The year opened with 184 students on the rolls. January 26th was India’s first Republic Day. The Country paraded in all its panoply and enjoyed a golden spell of five consecutive holidays
In April Mrs. C Dunne replaced Miss Swaries on the staff. Further promise relating to our worthy lebensraum strivings  unfolded itself in the Controller of Accommodation allowing us to claim the second and third floor flats its being left to us to implement the opportunity with a brisk legal approach. In scouting sphere our troops contributed splendidly in maintaining order during the visit of Our Lady of Fatima’s Statue, ‘The Pilgrim Virgin’ to the Pro-Cathedral.
In sports Campion’s Cricket played two matches, one against St. Xavier’s and the other against the Marine Sports Club, both resulting in a draw. In the football match Cathedral versus Campion we lost!! Towards the close of the year the Campions began to show a real literary bent which expressed itself in two hundred and thirty copies of the prima facie of the School Magazine. This encouragement stirred their afflatus for a later and bigger publication.
December’s Sports and Prize Distribution were presided over by Sir Richard Temple and Ladt Temple gave away the prizes
