Once upon a time there was a very great learned man in Bengal. He lived very simply and used to dress up so plainly that one day a gentleman called him "Coolie! Coolie! come here and carry my bag home". The great man didn't say that he was a Pandit but he went and carried the bag to the home of the gentleman. The gentleman asked "How much money do you want?" The great man said: "I want nothing, Sir, I am Pandit Iswar Chandra Vidyasagar". The gentleman felt very ashamed that instead of carrying his own bag he had made Vidayasagar carry it for him.
