Haresh Shah was born in 1952. He completed his schooling from Campion School, Mumbai and did his Bachelors in Commerce from the H.R. College, Mumbai. He received a degree in Marketing Management from Woodbury College, Los Angeles, U.S.A. He is a Design Consultant specializing in the field of interiors, handicrafts and fashion. In March 2000, he launched his personal label "H. Couture". He lives and works in Mumbai.
Haresh is the Managing Trustee of Vaikunth Mehta Research Centre For Decentralized Industry
He is the India Trustee for Planet Finance (An International Micro Finance Organization)
Haresh is also the Secretary of the Yusuf Meherally Centre a VO with Rural Development Centers in 10 States.
He is a member of the Khadi Village Industries Commission
Haresh has been Knighted by the President of France with “Knight Of The Order Of Merit” for contribution & work in areas of comprehensive Rural Development and Sustainable Employment Generation.
