CEO, Citi India

Pramit Jhaveri is the CEO of Citi India, responsible for all of Citi's businesses in the country. Citi India offers consumers, including non resident Indians, corporates and financial institutions, a comprehensive range of financial products and services. These include retail banking, mortgages, credit cards, wealth management, insurance, corporate and investment banking, treasury products, foreign exchange, securities brokerage, trade and cash management products, etc.

Citi India employs approximately 14,000 people in India and serves close to 2.5 million customers ranging from India's top corporate houses, multinationals operating in India, SME's, self-employed entrepreneurs, households and individuals. Citi India has leading market shares in a number of areas in India's banking industry, including foreign exchange, investment banking, cash management, credit cards, e-commerce banking and distribution of mutual funds.

During the last five years, Citi India has been widely recognized as the best performing foreign bank in India, across both consumer and corporate banking, has grown its business steadily and shown a consistent growth in profitability. Citi India's balance sheet is considered amongst the best performing in the Indian banking industry, with a net NPA level of 0.40% as of March 31, 2015.

Under Pramit's leadership, Citi India has won a number of awards. Among the awards received in 2015 are Best Bank - Global, Best Corporate and Institutional Bank – Global, Best Loan House and Best M&A House by The Asset, Best Foreign Bank by Finance Asia, Best Investment Bank and Best M&A House from Euromoney, as well as Best Consumer Internet Bank from Global Finance.

Pramit joined Citi India in 1987 and his 29 years of banking experience spans across multiple areas of the industry. Prior to becoming CEO in 2010, Pramit was responsible for Citi's Global Banking business in India. He successfully set up and built Citi's Investment Banking business in India, and took Citi to its current leadership position, having led numerous landmark global M&A, equity and fixed income transactions. Pramit is a member of Citi's Asia Pacific Operating Committee.

Pramit is on the Managing Committee of the Indian Banks Association and a Director on the Board of the Pratham Education Foundation. He is also on the IndiaBuilds Advisory Committee of Habitat for Humanity, the India Advisory Council of American India Foundation, the Advisory Board of Catalyst India and the Board of Trustees of India Foundation for the Arts.

Pramit has a BCom degree from Sydenham College, Mumbai University, and an MBA in Finance and Economics from the Simon School of Business, University of Rochester, USA.
